This was another incredible week for the DKW team. I woke up early on Saturday morning to set up for the two shows we were recording ‘Alzheimer’s Epidemic’ and ‘Where do Broken Hearts Go’. It was a happy team that arrived and we recorded two episodes with inspiring guests Felicity Mugovan talking about her work with charity start-up of the year 2016 MyLifeFilms and Helen Mia Harris who works extensively to help people overcome love addiction. We wrapped slightly later than normal at about 2pm as it was Rafaela’s first time as main presenter. She was amazing, it’s incredible if you watch her journey from her first show to how confident she is now. I then went to film Africa Fashion Week. The clothes were bright, bold, glamourous and Africa inspired. This segment was for our forthcoming ‘Hairy Topic’ episode which will be all about hair; so I was asking designers and fashionistas how important hair was to fashion and went backstage to get interesting insight from designer Mary Martin. On Sunday I went to Olympia Park to see RaceforLifers getting Pretty Muddy to fundraise for Cancer Research. I had a real I love my job moment in the sunshine, being inspired by these brave and muddy ladies taking part. The atmosphere was electric! You can look forward to seeing the incredibly brave ladies in our ‘Teach Girls Bravery Not Perfection’ episode on 6th November.
